THE TRIANGLE OF LUNET
Local, nature and passion are the driving forces of Lunet. Next to green, we bring the trianglular shape of the Stadspark into our restaurant with these three forces. We work only with fresh products, which we will use in full to leave a minimal footprint and waste. All our offers are the results of human craftsmanship.
Lunet is a true meeting between professionals and their environment, with a nod to the park. Its elegant kitchen has a strong identity, where simplicity with strong taste are key points. With its modern and seasonal kitchen, full of Mediterranean and Asian accents, you’ll be ensured to experience creative twists with great surprises.
There will be a full choice of menus available throughout the day, whether you are looking for a breakfast, lunch or dinner possibility in the green heart of Antwerp, Lunet is the place to be. Besides this, Lunet also offers urban picnics, brunch possibilities, gelato and pastries and a sublime take-away outlet.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Nowadays, we know Antwerp’s central park by the name Stadspark, but the park has a rich history. The triangular shape of the Stadspark is all that remains of Fort Herentals, one of the forts that guarded the city in the 16th century.
The lunette of Herentals (Antwerpse Lunet) was part of the Spanish defensive city wall. It was built as security for the city of Antwerp and the Herentals Canal (Herentalse vaart), the main water supply. The lunet of Herentals had a wet moad and four protective barriers. These barriers shaped a roughly triangular design with one entrance on the northwest. With the design of the, nowadays known, Stadspark, it was a conscious choice to adopt this triangular shape of the lunette and the pond had to be located at the location of the water supply. This was the start for more green in the heart of the city of Antwerp.
Today, we want to bring more green and sustainability back into our lives, and with Lunet we will make this happen again. We bring both the history of the lunette of Herentals together with nature into our restaurant.
